New Jersey Noir
Part of the terrific Akashic Books noir series and one of the best—and I’m not just saying that because I have a story in it. Anything Joyce Carol Oates does is always topnotch and she filled this book with writers like Jonathan Safran Foer, Bradford Morrow, Sheila Kohler, the poet Robert Pinsky, and more. Oates’s introduction alone is worth the price of the book, but there are so many good stories you won’t be sorry. Mine, “Lola,” is the most noir tale I ever wrote and I’m thinking about a follow up because Lola has stayed in my mind and she just won’t go away.
Featuring brand-new stories (and a few poems) by: Joyce Carol Oates, Jonathan Safran Foer, Robert Pinsky, Edmund White & Michael Carroll, Richard Burgin, Paul Muldoon, Sheila Kohler, C.K. Williams, Gerald Stern, Lou Manfredo, S.A. Solomon, Bradford Morrow, Jonathan Santlofer, Jeffrey Ford, S.J. Rozan, Barry N. Malzberg & Bill Pronzini, Hirsh Sawhney, and Robert Arellano.
