This drawing is based on a contact sheet image taken by the artist/photographer, Harry Roseman, who has been a long-time friend. I met his artist wife (to-be), Catherine Murphy, at Skowhegan School of painting & Sculpture – the first art colony I ever went to between my sophomore and Junior year in art school. This image is part of Harry’s “Visitors” series, probably from the early ‘80s. The cat is theirs, and Cathy made a painting of herself with the cat: Self-portrait with Pansy.”
